Lois Brown Janac

Lois Brown Janac, age 85, of Frederick, MD, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023. Born in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Tobias and Carrie Myers Brown. She was preceded by her husband of 44 years, Michael Leo Janac.

Lois started her career working at C&P Telephone Company, she also worked at Fredrick Memorial Hospital and Asbury Methodist Village. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Taneytown until she moved to Frederick and then became a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Frederick. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was deeply proud of her husband’s military service, and that all three of her sons also served in the military. She was fascinated in Colonial Williamsburg and Colonial era, she enjoyed interior decorating, and she loved her dogs, Dutch, Sherlock, and Chesey.

Lois is survived by her sons, Gary Janac and wife Kate, David Janac and wife Kathy, and Michael Janac and wife Anne; and her grandchildren: Alexa, Ben and Ian Janac.

A funeral will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St, Taneytown, MD at 12 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Ann Dentry officiating.

The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Interment will follow the service at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Taneytown.
