Lorraine D. (Lockard) Stair

          Lorraine D. Stair, 92, of Pleasant Valley died on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the family farm surrounded by her loving family.

          Born April 21, 1928 in Patapsco, Maryland she was the daughter of the late Lionel Sinclair and Naomi (Taylor) Lockard.  She was the loving and devoted wife to the late Charles A. Stair, who predeceased her in 1990.

          Lorraine is the last surviving member of her immediate family and was predeceased by her brothers, Brentwood, Jesse and Arthur Lockard; and sisters, Virginia Starner and Gwendolyn Rill.

          She was retired from Carroll County Public Schools as an assistant on bus transportation for Head Start children.  She was a member of St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ, Pleasant Valley.  Lorraine will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

          Surviving are children, David R. Stair and wife Therese, Sandra L. Martin and husband Samuel, and Randy G. Stair and wife Dana all of Pleasant Valley; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a son, Charles A. Stair, Jr.

          The family will receive friends on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster with Lay Pastor Donna Geiman officiating.  Due to pandemic, face masks and social distancing should be observed while in funeral home.  For those unable to attend, services will be live-streamed at (https://www.facebook.com/MDFHWestminster).  Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
