Melissa Orff Obituary

Melissa Irene Orff, 55, of Lexington Park, MD passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Frederick. Born January 27, 1965 in Silver Spring, MD, she was the daughter of May Beth (Miller) Smith and the late James Wilford Orff.

Melissa was a graduate of Thomas Stone High School in Waldorf, MD, class of ’85. She was a Medical Transport Specialist with Van Go Transport in Waldorf for more than 20 years. She was a people person, and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She also had a special love for her cat, Chia, and her dog, Charlie.

Surviving, in addition to her mother May Beth, are her children, Shawn Orff of Missouri, Elizabeth Dobson of Frederick, MD, Emily Howe of Lusby, MD, and Steven Orff of Missouri; sister, Ann MacDonald of Petersburg, VA; and grandchildren, Jazmine, Devin, Aiden, Brianna, Caden and Anjolena.

Services are private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Emmitsburg, MD.
