Obituary

Nancy Lee Tracey, 87, of Westminster, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at the Atlee House in Westminster. Born on January 9, 1935, in Unionville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Curfman and Reva I. Curfman, nee Hoffman. She was the loving wife to Thomas Franklin Tracey; they would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary later this month.

Nancy grew up with her only sister, Bonnie on the family farm. Tom and Nancy met in June of 1954 at the Rainbow Roller Rink in Taneytown. While Tom worked on the farm with her father, Nancy worked as a secretary for a doctors’ office, then as a bookkeeper for C. Kenneth Crum, then Rager, Lehman & Houck, before retiring in 1998. In her spare time, she loved gardening, especially roses, sewing, cross-stitch, and helping on the farm. She adored spending time with her family and friends.

She has been a member of St. John’s Leister’s Lutheran Church for over 65 years. Her fondest memories at the church are the life-long friendships she has developed over the years, teaching Sunday School and helping with church festivals.

Surviving in addition to her husband are children, Ronald Tracey and wife Joyce, Carol Nevin and husband Steve; grandchildren Ronald Tracey, II., and wife Angelina, Andrew Tracey and wife Lisa, TJ Tracey, Ben Tracey, Jenny Hinch and husband Patrick, and Katie Nevin; great-grandchildren Ryder and Parker Hinch; sister, Bonnie Graham and husband Bobby; along with her beloved nieces and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a great-grandson, Henry Lee Tracey.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at St. John’s Leister’s Lutheran Church, 827 Leister’s Church Road, Westminster, MD 21157. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. at the church with Reverend Kristin Dubsky officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Leister’s Lutheran Church via mail or online at https://secure.myvanco.com/L-Z440/home; or to the New Windsor Lions Club via mail to P.O. Box 167, New Windsor, MD 21776.
