David Franklin Erb

     David Franklin Erb, age 89 of Westminster, MD passed away April 16, 2024 at Bethania Home Care in Westminster, MD.

     Born August 6, 1934 near Pleasant Valley, MD he was the son of the late Paul Theodore and Mary (King) Erb.

     David graduated from Westminster High School, Class of 1952. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1959 with Honorable Discharge. He spent most of his working career as a machine operator/machinist. He enjoyed small engine repair, building blue bird houses, woodworking, flea markets, and gardening. David was always happy to share horticultural tips with anyone who was interested in listening. He had such a wealth of knowledge and was always willing to share. David loved reading God’s Word. He enjoyed life and lived life with honesty, respect and kindness. He was one of the sweetest people you ever wanted to meet. David will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew him.

     He is survived by brother, Paul T. Erb, Jr. of Westminster, MD; nieces and nephews, Jean Miller of York, PA, Jane Wise of Gettysburg, PA, John Erb, Jr. of Dacula, GA, Charles Erb of Jacksonville, NC, Linda Brown and William Erb of Westmintser, MD; and several cousins.

     In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his brother, John S. Erb, Sr.; sister, Cora Armacost and brother-in-law John Armacost.

     A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 12pm at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD 21787. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11am until time of service. Interment with military honors will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
