Obituary

MaryAnn Clark passed away on November 12, 2022, at 86 years old. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 28, 1936. MaryAnn resided in Laurel, Maryland, where she raised her family, until 1999 when she moved with her husband to Seffner, Florida.

After graduating from Indiana High School, MaryAnn moved to Washington, DC, where she was employed by the United States Information Agency. She quickly moved up the ranks to become Executive Secretary to the Director for Southeast Asia. MaryAnn also volunteered for the USO, where she entertained troops in the capitol area with her humorous monologues. In her free time, she was active in several local theater groups.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 65 years, 9 months and 2 days, Donald Clark. Together they traveled the United States and extensively in other areas of the world. Donnie kept her young with his quick wit and sense of humor. Her warm personality and hearty laugh will also be missed by her six children, Rita (Wayne) Ritter; Mary Catherine (Peter) Cushley; Daniel (Cheryl) Clark; Thomas (Theresa) Clark; Theresa (Dave) Hickie; and Eileen Bechtel. She is survived by her siblings: Daniel J. McCarthy Jr., Maureen Moody, Colleen Ricciardi, and Padraic “Paddy” McCarthy, sister-in-laws Sandra McCarthy, Carolyn McCarthy, Vicki McCarthy, and Barbara Liff, and brother-in-law Donald Liff.

MaryAnn was blessed with 17 grandchildren: Andrew, Helen, Richie, Daniel, Bobby, Tom, Katie, Jim, Brigit, Brian, Michelle, Shannon, Suzie, Connor, Wendy, Gabe, and Gavin. She also has 8 great-grandchildren: Lucy, Mitchell (MAC), Tuck, Cade, Reid, Millie Kay, Elise, Leo, and new arrivals on the way.

Gardening was her passion; MaryAnn could make anything grow. She loved the beauty of photography and making jewelry. She dabbled in painting, pottery, loved decorating and flower arranging. Award-winning pound cake and Irish soda breads were her specialties. MaryAnn was an active member of many organizations, including the Brandon Newcomers Club and Nativity Catholic Church.
