Simon Peter Magruder

Simon Peter Magruder, 84, of Westminster, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at the Peak Healthcare Center of Patapsco in Randallstown. Born February 3, 1938, he was the son of the late Marcella Magruder. He was the loving husband to the late Mary Louise Magruder.

He was a truck driver for Baugher’s in Westminster. He was a lifetime member of the New Windsor Fire Department. Simon loved playing the bass guitar and was in a band, Everyday People. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing fast-pitch softball. He liked going to fire shows with his son, Nick. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his friends and family, specifically his grandchildren. Memories of spending time with Simon in Ocean City, MD will be cherished.

Surviving are son, Nicholas Magruder and wife, Sherry Sanders-Magruder, of Hanover, PA; granddaughters Ashley Sanders and Courtney Sanders; great-granddaughters Sophia Meile and Marissa Hall; and sister Dale Bowie and husband Michael. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Margarite and Ruth.

A memorial service will be held at the New Windsor Fire Hall on 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, with Deacon Charles E Barnhart, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to help defray funeral expenses may be made to The Magruder Family.
